My sister made the jump from kindergarten to second grade this year (as a teacher, not a student). With changing grades, comes a lot of unloading the old, and collecting the new. She had several boxes of books I got to go through. I usually look for two things when skimming through the pages of a book (especially children's books). I look for a quality story with engaging illustrations for reading, or I look for beautiful images to use as decor.
Well, I found some amazing fall images in this book by Ken Robbins. I don't think I ever came across this book when I taught. I had many fall books in my collection, but not this one. Anyway, this is a great book for reading, but the leaf images on each page lend themselves perfectly for a simple gallery wall of fall leaves. Here are the images from the book.
Aren't these beautiful? They are photographs taken by Mr. Robbins. I love the simplicity of each page- the leaf name and image against a white background. Gorgeous! We are living with my in-laws right now, so I don't have room to make a gallery wall with them, but I'm hanging on tightly to them for next year's fall decor.
I also discovered that Ken Robbins is the author of this book called Pumpkins. I've had my eye on this book for many years, and would love to add it to my fall book collection. Do any of you have it? I'm hoping you'll say it's worth buying. The cover alone makes me think it completely is.

I had this book in my preschool classroom and my students wore it out! They loved the photos of the leaves and wanted me to keep it out for the entire school year. Science and nature books were always favorites :)
